As we all struggle to stay calm during this national predicament, we also struggle to maintain one issue we never had to worry about before: boredom. During the lockdown, many sought Netflix to pass away time. We all know Netflix is notorious for taking off incredibly popular shows and movies. Here is a list of some Netflix films that will be terminated before the start of 2021.
The Office, an all around fan favorite with a surplus of original jokes, is saying goodbye to the streaming site at the end of December. However, you can always turn to Disney+ to binge-watch the goofy sitcom.
Another drama-filled classic that is leaving on Dec. 31, Gossip Girl. All six seasons are retiring from Netflix before the new year. If you’re like me, you can always start the show over again and then switch to Hulu on Jan. 1. If you liked the series, Gilmore Girls, you will love all four seasons of Hart of Dixie. Sadly, the 10-year-old television series is leaving Netflix on Dec. 14.
If you enjoy the animated movies Netflix provides, you will be sad to find out that The Grinch and Wreck-It Ralph 2 will be leaving before next week. The animation Casper and How The Grinch Stole Christmas will also be gone by the end of the year.
These movies will without a doubt bring tears to your eyes and will be missed tremendously: The Notebook and Charlie St. Cloud. Just like The Office, if you have Disney+ you can always watch The Notebook there by next year.
Freshman Abigail Pearson said she is extremely upset that Pretty Little Liars has been taken off a few years back. “I think that Netflix removes older shows so they can add more Netflix originals, but most people go to Netflix to watch the older shows, so they might lose some viewers,” Pearson said.
