NBA MVP race running tight

This year the NBA MVP race is very close. With more than a few players having career seasons, it’s a close call who is going to be named the best. Even some all time greats of the game have said that we could see the first ever CO-MVPs because it’s too close to give to one player. Here are the 5 players who have the best shot.

5.Isaiah Thomas

This guy deserves a lot of credit for what he is doing. He has had a breakout year, which has put him among other top players in the league. With 29 points a game, he has carried the Celtics all the way to the first seed in the East. Not to mention he leads the league in fourth quarter scoring.

4.LeBron James

James is having another great year, averaging a career high in rebounds and assists. He has become more of a threat this year with his jump shot, shooting 54 percent from the field. His numbers are impressive, and he has teammates around him to elevate his game. His MVP chances will be hurt because of the games that James sits out for rest.

3.Kawhi Leonard

Leonard is a great player on both ends of the floor. He is the two-time reigning defensive player of the year, and he can make a big impact on offense as well. He averages 25 points and 2 steals. The Spurs are not where they are right now if it isn’t for Leonard.

2.James Harden

James Harden is having a dominant season. He is hitting big shots late in games, and he can get to the hoop as well as anyone in the NBA. His vision on the court is outstanding; he can share the ball with his teammates very well. He averages over 11 assists and 29 points a game. He is definitely a favorite to win it all.

1.Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook is a machine on the court. He just tied the record for the most triple doubles in a season in NBA history. His stats are unbelievable. With 33 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, there is no question he is one of the best in the league. The problem with Westbrook’s MVP case is that Thunder aren’t winning as much as they should be, but Westbrook is definitely very valuable, and the Thunder are nowhere near where they are right now without him.
