Slime Rancher 2 continues lighthearted play of original game

On September 22, Slime Rancher 2 was released, the long-awaited sequel to Monomi Park’s Slime Rancher.

The original game was insanely popular. By May 2017, the game had sold over 800,000 copies. By February 2019, the game had sold 2 million copies. By January 2022, the game had sold over 5 million copies.

With such a success fans wanted more, so Slime Rancher 2 was revealed on June 13, 2021, having been featured during the 2021 Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase.

Slime Rancher is a game where you play as protagonist Beatrix LeBeau, and you move to an alien plant to farm … slimes?

Slime Rancher is a cute and lighthearted game full of silly little blob creatures, with (almost) all of them loving to bounce, cuddle and interact with you. Rancher 2 shares a similar base mechanism. More types of slimes were added in Slime Rancher 2 while some didn’t make it, along with more features to the ranch and an overall upscale.

Slime Rancher 2 is planned to have more updates in the coming months, but fans are unsure of what they will entail.

If you are looking for a casual, laid back, cutesy and lighthearted game to play in your free time, even if you have no experience with this type of game or any games at all, I would recommend Slime Rancher, and if you just can’t get enough slimes, why not try Slime Rancher 2?
