George’s Local serves flavorful dishes from previous auto-body shop

Local auto-body shop turned restaurant George’s Local opened last week at the corner of Main Street and East 4th Street. Last Saturday, I went to George’s to try their food and review their restaurant.

I made reservations for noon and was seated by 12:05. The first thing I noticed upon entering George’s was, despite indoor and outdoor seating options, the number of tables and possible occupants was very limited. Many families were eating their lunch while sitting on the ground gathered around stone firepits. There were lots of extra chairs stacked in the corner of the courtyard, but none were being used to seat extra guests. Although the seating was very limited, George’s Local was nicely decorated, clean and had welcoming and friendly staff.

We were served our drinks by 12:10 and then offered our menus. Although there was a limited menu, there were options coming in different flavors. The food was also a bit pricey, which is understandable for a newly opened restaurant.

Our orders were quickly taken and we were served by 12:30. I bought the Buffalo Mac n Cheese, which was one of the best dishes I have ever had. It was freshly prepared, warm and extra seasoning was added to accent the buffalo wings.

Overall, I would give George’s Local a four and a half out of five.
