How to give the gift of recycling this holiday season

This season we need to give the one woman in our life who does everything for us a huge gift. Mother earth deserves to not have more trash piling up on her, so this year, recycle! Save the paper in a bag and take it to the city’s recycling center. The Recycling Drop Off Center is located next to the Transfer Station on the 1500 block of State Street.

Recycling center hours at the main site:,https://www.cedarfalls.com/100/Recycling go here for more information.

Monday through Friday

7 a.m.–6 p.m. (Summer hours–April through October)

7 a.m.–5 p.m. (Winter hours–November through March)

Saturday 8 a.m.–3 p.m.

Give back to the planet even more by also recycling the following:

  • Cardboard
  • Newsprint
  • Magazines
  • Tin Cans
  • Clear and Colored Glass
  • Office Paper
  • Plastics #1–7
  • Plastic Grocery Bags
  • Cooking oil without food residue is accepted only at the 15th Street site
  • Phone Books (accepted May–August)
  • Styrofoam is accepted only at the Main Recycling Site at 15th and State, Panther Parkway and Greenhill Village remote sites. Packing peanuts must be bagged.

Our planet is recovering from a lot of crap this year, so give her a break and put less stuff in landfills and more into recycling centers. Happy holidays.
