Cauliflower adds delicious twist to gluten-free pizza

The most popular food in America is pizza, originating from Italy. While most Italians strive to keep it reasonably healthy and very fresh, other Americans have dropped standards to a carb bomb of a meal, but here is an extremely easy recipe that is full of vitamins and protein, but it still gives your pizza cravings full satisfaction.

Grain-Free Cauliflower Crust Pizza

makes one 10-12 inch pizza

Only 30 Min!

Ingredients:

1 small to medium sized head of cauliflower – should make 2 to 3 cups once processed

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon dried basil (crush it up a little)

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano (break it down a little more with your fingers)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Red Pepper flakes (a couple shakes)

1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese

1/4 cup mozzarella cheese

1 egg

optional 1 tablespoon almond meal

Choose your own sauce, cheese, toppings or whatever else you feel to add

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees, and place the pizza stone/sheet in the oven. Use your washed smallish cauliflower (you don’t need a big one) and cut the florets off (don’t use stem, just white part). Process cauliflower for about 30 seconds until you have 2-3 cups of snow like powder.

Microwave processed cauliflower for about 4 minutes, and then place in a clean towel. Once cool, keep it in the towel and wring it to DEATH. You are getting the unnecessary water out of it so it doesn’t become a crumble in the oven.

Now add 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon dried basil, 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, a dash of red pepper and the almond meal if your cauliflower made closer to two cups and not three. Mix well.

Mix the egg into the dry ingredients, and then take your dough and mold it into a crust on your parchment. Make it tight and pressed down firmly, not too thick or thin. Then move the pizza that’s on the parchment unto the stone sheet and place back into the oven.

Bake your crust for 8-11 minutes, until it is a golden brown. Remove from oven.

Let it cool for a few minutes, and then add whatever sauce and toppings you like. Enjoy this healthy and yummy pizza.
