Get out and support CFHS family on Saturday

Rich Kime, the father of five kids who either graduated or are currently going to school in Cedar Falls, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma on Feb. 21, and he has since been fighting the cancer.

The Kime family is having a benefit tomorrow, Oct. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Riverview Conference Center on 439 North Division Road in Cedar Falls. The benefit will include a dinner, silent auction, as well as a live dessert auction. There will also be shirts and wristbands for sale, all of which are charitable contributions. If you would not like to purchase something, there also will be free donations at the door. The event is sponsored by Wish On A STAR.

We encourage everyone to support the benefit, and the Kime family as they go through this, and we encourage you to try your best to get to the event and show your support. There are also opportunities to help with the benefit.

Cedar Falls High School has had a history of pulling together when there are people in need, whether it has been supporting Mrs. Smith and turning out for the color run, or supporting the food drive, we have shown that we are a very tight community. This is another benefit that we should support as a community.
