With only four weeks left in the school year, students are beginning to feel a mix of excitement and pressure as they push toward summer break. While many are looking forward to time off, others say the final stretch comes with increased responsibilities.
For some students, the countdown has already begun. “I’m definitely excited for summer,” sophomore Tyler Grant said, “but at the same time, I have a lot of assignments to finish before it’s actually over.”
Teachers often use the last few weeks to wrap up units and prepare students for final exams, which can add to the stress. “Everything kind of piles up at the end,” junior Kayla Morris said. “It feels like all the big projects are due at once.”
Despite the workload, many students say the end of the year also brings a more relaxed atmosphere. Events, warmer weather, and fewer long-term assignments can make school feel different compared to earlier months. “It’s still busy, but it’s a little more laid back,” sophomore Jordan Blake said. “Everyone’s just ready to be done.”
For seniors, the final weeks carry even more significance as graduation approaches. Many say they are trying to balance finishing strong with enjoying their last moments of high school. “It’s kind of weird knowing it’s almost over,” senior Daniel Perex said. “I’m excited to graduate, but I’m also trying to take it all in before it’s gone.”
As the countdown continues, students are focused on making it through the remaining weeks while looking ahead to a well-earned summer break.
