Students share what makes a great teacher

After interviewing my classmate, I found that helpfulness and patience are key traits of being a great teacher. A recurring theme among multiple individuals was that they value patience.

For example, my classmate senior Ruth Koumondji shared that a great teacher notices when a student is struggling and would visit them privately during Tiger Time.

Another interesting point I heard was the importance of creating a welcoming classroom environment. Chris Halburg, a senior, mentioned that good teachers set positive examples.

Based on my conversations, a great teacher is someone kind, patient, outgoing and helpful.
