Pom, hip hop teams place at state dance event

The women’s dance team got a D1 rating in both pom and hip hop at the state event in Des Moines on Dec. 2. The dancers placed 6th in pom and 9th in hip hop. They also received the GPA award, which is only given to the teams with an average of a 4.0.

Senior Sarah Campbell said, “State was very long and very fun. Solos started the days, and they were amazing. Then all-male performed, which is always fun to watch and support. Then our team performances went, and we all just really bonded before we went on the floor, and though we may not have placed how we wanted, I think we felt proud of how we performed that day. I cannot speak for the coaches, but I think we made them proud. They appeared to be very happy, especially in our pom performance. I am extremely proud of how the team did at State. I think that we left it all out on the floor and were happy with how we performed. I wouldn’t want my senior year to end any other way.”
