Dance teams heading to State

The dance team is headed to Wells Fargo Arena on Dec. 2 for the state competition. Six soloists will perform in the morning, the all male team will perform at 11 a.m., the pom team will perform at 3 p.m. and the hip hop team will perform at 7 p.m.

Senior dance team member Mallory Grund provided an overview of the team’s expectations.

“We have all been working really hard by practicing Monday and Wednesday nights and also Tuesday and Thursday early mornings. We have really tried to push ourselves mentally and physically to grow as a team but also have gotten really close in the process of that. Our plan is to go to State and perform both our pom and hip hop routines and walk off the floor feeling good about the routines but also about our performance quality. Getting to place in one or both of the routines would also be great, but it is more about how we feel as a team and about ourselves than a trophy. I think we are ready. I am super impressed with all of the hard work my teammates have put in. The willingness to come to all the early and long practices can definitely be hard when you are so far into the season and your body is tired, but every single girl shows up ready to work hard and is committed to work hard. This has been such a great year; the team dynamic is more of a family than a team and it is so special. We all have endless support for one another on and off the floor and want to see everyone succeed. This is one of the most talented, hardworking group of girls I have met, and I am so blessed to be able to be a part of a team this special.”
