Toys for Tots accepting donations locally

Toys for Tots is a program in the United States that is meant to gather presents for kids whose parents cannot afford to get gifts. This program was started in 1947 by reservist Major Bill. It’s a way to spread Christmas cheer for people who are less fortunate around the United States, but there are some rules that apply to these gifts that need to be followed:

  1. The gifts must be unused and new
  2. unwrapped presents
  3. preferably around the $10 or above price range.
  4. Books are also needed. (Kids get two toys and three books).
  5. Homemade toys are also acceptable.
  6. Toys that are candy are NOT allowed.
  7. Toys that look like realistic weapons are NOT allowed.
  8. Toys with chemicals are NOT allowed (such as experimental labs, acid, crystal making kits, etc.).

Online sites (Cedar Rapids toys for tots) or (Connect with your local Toys for Tots Program) help find drop off stations such as Limited Edition comic books, owned by Robert Rodgers, who has been working with Toys for Tots for 10 years.

In the store he has a box for gifts to take the Toys for Tots donations. “I like to try and get back to the community, and I like to try and make sure kids have a good Christmas,” Rogers said.
