The forgotten highlights of 2020

Alright, we all know that 2020 was a generally chaotic and bad year. Let’s find all of the most positive moments of last year!! First up, a funny meme to make everyone laugh!

Isn’t that somewhat true, though? Last year was so long in March and April especially.

Let’s look at more positives throughout the year now. First up! America’s Grandma, Betty White, is still alive! She was born on January 17, 1922. Most people know her from the show, The Golden Girls. I don’t know about you, but I love cheesecake, and I wanna eat the cheesecake that she’d make.

Something we can watch instead of the news is this. There’s a new series on YouTube by John Kransinki called “Some Good News.” Every day he makes more positive news go viral. Instead of hearing about all of the politics and the serious topics that no one likes talking about, there are some more fun ones.

Now, here’s something that we all love. Sweatpants! They made a comeback while everyone was stuck at home. Sweatpants and T-shirts are, once again, socially acceptable to wear 24/7.

Older people, some call them “Boomers,” grew up in the age of drive-in movies. Sadly, these outdoor screenings slowly went extinct, or nearly so. However! They’ve made a comeback as of last year. Most were scared to reopen movie theaters, so they made drive-ins once more accessible to the public.

A few things that we really needed last year … were some new friends! Americans increased their adoption and foster ratings of pets. Along with that, we got more time to read!

What are you supposed to do when you get bored at home? You can’t watch Netflix forever! There’s also more times for puzzles and board games when you’re taking a screen break. Something for the little kids to be excited about, personally I’m a little excited too, is that Amazon introduced new boxes! These ones you can make into a cat fort or a cardboard robot costume.

There are a lot of good things that happened in 2020. One of my personal favorites is that Taylor Swift dropped a new album. There have been many good reviews posted about it, so let’s remember the upsides to a challenging year that’s past, and build this one into a string of happy karma-building experiences that we will remember for life.
