… and top the music off with these addictive flicks

Everyone has that one movie that you’ve seen more than you can count, and you probably know almost every line. Here our some of Peet Junior High’s favorite guilty pleasure movies:

Gabe Dengler
Grade: 9
Movie: “Batman and Robin” (1997)
“Batman and Robin” is notorious for being the worst Batman movie ever made. Yet, it’s Dengler’s guilty pleasure movie. “I love it because it’s so bad that it’s funny,” He said while laughing. One of his favorite scenes is when Poison Ivy “seduces” Robin. When he watches it with his friends, he stands up and says, “This is my scene, guys.”

Alyssa Joyce
Grade: 9
Movie: “Gnomeo and Juliet” (2011)
This animated children’s movie tells the romantic story of Romeo and Juliet but through cute garden gnomes. Joyce said, “Most children’s movies are my guilty pleasure because they allow me to go back into the days of my childhood.” The scene when Gnomeo and Juliet first meet is her favorite. “I really liked the setting. The rustiness of the old greenhouse makes the scene ever better,” she said.

Allison Flanscha
Grade: 9
Movie: “The Croods” (2013)
Allison Flanscha’s favorite guilty pleasure movie is the prehistoric animation, “The Croods.” “It’s hilarious, but it’s an animated movie for kids, but I still think it’s funny,” she said with a smile on her face. “I can’t wait until it’s on Netflix ‘cause I’ll be watching it all the time.” Flanscha’s favorite scene from “The Croods” is when, Grug, played by Nicholas Cage, attempts to invent like the other character, Guy, played by Ryan Reynolds, but only ends up embarrassing himself.

Sofia Muñoz
Grade: 9
Movie: “Mamma Mia!” (2008)
Compiled with only songs of the hit Swedish disco band, ABBA, “Mamma Mia” is Sofia Munoz’s guilty pleasure movie. She said, “I don’t watch a lot of romantic comedies or musicals and ‘Mamma Mia’ is both, so it’s totally out of my comfort zone.” “Mamma Mia” was a hugely popular broadway show that turned into a hit film starring Meryl Streep and Colin Firth. “I can’t help from singing along. There are also a lot of memories from my early childhood tied to it,” she said. The dance sequence during the classic song, “Lay All Your Love On Me” is her favorite. “It’s just so funny, and my aunt and I had the best time learning the routine.”
