Card making business donates funds

There are so many different ways to raise money for those in need, and a sixth grader at Hansen Elementary, Taylor Dusenbery, has found a way to put her creative skills to work and raise money for charity.

Dusenbery has always been artistic. She started out making cards for fun. Later, she realized she could use that creativity to find a way to help others. Last year in February, she got the idea to sell the cards she makes for charity. “I enjoy making cards, and it is fun to help other people out who are less fortunate than me,” Dusenbery said.

Sixth grade student Taylor Dusenberry made these cards and sells them to collect money for the Kids Cafe and Child Protection Agency.

She named her small greeting card business Fei’s Creations, which is her middle name. Each card is brightly colored and created uniquely by Dusenbery. There are thank you cards, birthday cards, congratulations cards and much more available for anyone to buy.

There are many different charities out there, but Dusenbery chose the Kids Cafe and Child Protection Agency to give her proceeds to. Dusenbery raised over $1,000 to these charities, spending the last year designing  and selling all her cards.

Dusenbery and her mom, Holy Dusenbery, even went shopping to buy all sorts of things for the kids in the Child Protection Center. Stuffed animals, toys, coloring books and much more were donated by them. Each child will get to pick out a gift from Dusenbery’s donations.

Dusenbery is proof that it doesn’t matter how young, anyone can help out the less fortunate. So many have been impressed with her hard work and drive to raise money for these organizations. She said she feels a strong need to help others. “I love that after I donated the money to the charity I feel like I helped out somebody out there who needed it ,” Dusenbery said.

All the cards are still available to be purchased. Dusenbery is still making them to raise money for these organizations. The deal is 10 cards for $14 including envelopes. If anyone wants to buy some cards just email
