With the school year coming to a close, students are already looking ahead to summer break and the different ways they plan to spend their time. From travel to work to simply relaxing, many say the break is a chance to reset and relax.
Some students are planning to focus on jobs and saving money over the summer. “I’m mostly going to be working so I can save up for next year,” junior Jordan Ellis said. “It won’t be super exciting, but it’ll be worth it.”
Others are hoping for a mix of relaxing and spending time with friends. “I just want a break from everything,” sophomore Maya Collins said. “Sleeping in and hanging out with friends is basically my whole plan.”
Another sophomore, Ethan Brooks, said he’s planning to stay busy with a combination of activities. “I’m doing sports practices and trying to travel a little bit with my family,” Brooks said. “It feels like the only time of year where everything slows down a bit.”
As summer approaches, students say they are ready for a break from school routines, even if their plans look different from one another.
